As a long time fan I think this release of Automatic has exceeded my expectations a vast improved on the original back in 1989. I was concerned when this release was first announced that it would be a cheap rip off the original release. But this 2010 release has five rare bonus cuts, a booklet full of facts and lyrics of all the songs. Cherry Pop has done an outstanding job on this 2010 release of Automatic. Maybe one day Famous People will get the same treatment.
Well overdue CD revamp for the one and only album by Gary Numan and Bill Sharpe which reached the UK Top 60 on it’s original release in 1989 Includes the singles ‘Change Your Mind’ (No.34), ‘I’m On Automatic’ (No.44) and the non charting ‘No More Lies’. Sure to please the legions of Gary Numan fans as this album
has been out of print for over ten years and is a highly priced collectors item on the likes of eBay etc…
Released on the Cherry Red Pop label; a company dedicated to
reissues of records that originally came out in the 1980's
Not released until Monday October 18 2010 but made available on eBay before release date. Missing tracks 'Change Your Mind' (12" Extended Version) and 'New Thing From London Town'...both unfortunately absent due to licensing restrictions. Universal have supported this project however with masters etc. and the 20 page booklet apparently looks fantastic? - it has lyrics for all tracks; extensive sleevenotes; and comments from Bill, Gary & Roger Odell about some of the tracks + making it a must for all Numan fans.
