The Gary Numan Fan Club has been publishing Newsletters since Gary first rose to fame in the late 70's. They are, as much as anything, a diary of his career in words and pictures. With the transformation in 1999 of the Fan Club into the new Alien magazine, these Newsletters are the definitive guide to the first 20 years of the Numan experience. In 1999 Gary decided to stop the long running Gary Numan fan club, instead in its place would be a new magazine venture going by the name Alien the Gary Numan magazine. The magazine ran until 2002. It was discontinued after Gary decided to spend more time running Numan’s own official wedsite Nuworld. 

Issue 1: of the now defunct Gary Numan Alien magazine. This issue has features on Gary's involvement with Fear Factory and Afrika Bambaataa plus the making of the Warriors album and lots more.

Issue 2: This issue has features on the Tubeway Army album and the early years plus Gary's use of Sampling technology on his more recent music.

This issue was published in June 1999 and is a 12 page black and white only mag.

Issue 3: This issue has part 2 of the Tubeway Army Early Years feature, part 1 being in issue 2.

This issue was published in September 1999 and was a 12 page black and white only mag.

Issue 4:  This issue features a full two page interview with Gary plus a feature on Numan favourite V.A.S.T.

This issue was published in December 1999 and was a 12 page black and white only mag.

Issue 5: This issue has a feature on the making of the Telekon album, Dubstar's Steve Hillier talks about working with Gary plus a feature on the U.S. version of Sacrifice, released by fantasy comic publishers Sirius and renamed Dawn.

This issue was published in March 2000 and was a 20 page issue, 8 being in colour.

Issue 6/7: This issue has another two page interview with Gary, a feature by Gary on the making of the Pure album and a Numan band question and answer double page spread.

This issue was published in September 2000 and is a double issue 24 page black and white mag.

Issue 8: This issue features Gary's Tour Diary from the 2000 European Tour, Gary is interviewed by Stephin Merritt from The Magnetic Fields and also talks about the making of the Berserker album.

This issue was published in December 2000 and was a 12 page black and white only mag.

Issue 9: This issue has a feature on the making of the 1981 Dance album, Gary's Tour Diary from the 2001 UK Tour, an interview with Pure co-producers Sulpher and a report on the making of the Rip video. It also includes a two page Numan interview and a chat with Andy Gray.

This issue was published in March 2001 and was a 20 page mag, 8 of them in colour.

Issue 10: This issue features a four page Numan Tour Diary special from the 2001 North American Tour, and that's just part 1, plus a one page interview and all the other usual items.

This issue was published in June 2001 and was a 12 page black and white only mag.

Issue 11/12: This double issue has the six page second part of the 2001 North American Numan Tour Diary, a photo feature on Gary's Men And Motors TV series, a two page interview and a Q and A on the I, Assassin album.

This issue was published in December 2001 and was a 24 page black and white only double issue mag.

Issue 13/14: This extra paged double issue has a Q and A with Gary on the Warriors album, a Q and A on the NuWorld web site, a feature on Artful Records and a two page interview.

This issue was published in June 2002 and was a 32 page mag, 12 pages in colour, and included many full page colour photos.

Issue 15/16: This extra paged double issue has a feature on the making of the Hybrid album, lyrics to Ancients, a feature on Gary's nautical trip through Ireland, a two page interview plus a report on the Kerrang awards which saw Gary giving an award to German superband Rammstein.

This issue was published in February 2003 and was the last ever issue of the magazine. It has 32 pages, 12 in colour.
